Weather was like SA in June, and people were complaining about the heat. NOT me. I wandered thru BA most of the afternoon, stopping at the Museo de Bella Artes or fine art. While I was blown away by Rodin’s “the kiss”, the incredible beauty and tenderness, in marble, of the “first funeral” by an artist I’d not heard of was compelling:

I took a taxi over to a BA institution, Cafe Tortoni, for a cafe con leche and snack. Mostly tourists, rather than Portenos, as citizens of Buenas Aires call themselves, were there, but it was then within walking distance of other famous landmarks, including the obelisk and Teatro Colon and the Palace of Justice (their Supreme Court).
From the “recommended” restaurants I’ve visited in BA, it seems that they prefer quantity over quality (SO different from Lima), and I was over “all you can eat” a long time ago. There is incredible inflation in Argentina -the dollar rose almost 15 percent against the peso just in the 2 days I was here. I leave for one of the natural wonders of the world, Iguazu Falls, in the morning.
