Hi! I am Pamela Giles of 2Exclusive . Above is a photograph
of me with my handsome boys Brock and Connor. When my best friend and I went
through separations around the same time, we quickly noticed the disturbing
effects these changes had on our boys. Of course our children were sad and
struggling with the new separation of the parents they loved so dearly.
But what stood out most was their confusion and uncertainty on what days they
would spend with their dads. "Mom, what day is it today? When do we go stay
at daddy's? Will I see my daddy today? Which weekend do I stay at Dad's?
The questions went on and on. I can't tell you how many times we explained
how the visitation schedules had been set up. After answering this question,
several hundred times, it occurred to us that there may be a simple solution.
We purchased a generic calendar and numerous packages of stickers from
local bookstores and card shops. Then we sat down with our children and began
our fun project. We used different stickers to show our boys which days they
would be with us and which days they would be with their fathers. We also used
fun stickers to indicate birthdays, game days, holidays, etc. Not only did our
children enjoy the sticker project, but it was a wonderful way to spend quality
time with them and most important they were no longer confused. Everyday they
would wake up, look at the calendar and know who was picking them up from school
and where they would be sleeping that night. They could look forward to any
special activities that day or in the weeks ahead.
It was only a short time before I realized how beneficial this calendar
really was. If this calendar helped my family so much, what about all the other
mothers and fathers out there in similar situations? Several friends and family
members asked if I could put together planning calendars for their children. The
project, however, was very expensive. So I decided to develop a sticker calendar
that would be cost effective and would help provide stability to children and families
during what is definitely a very crazy and unpredictable time in their lives.
So ta daaaa!!!! I am happy to present the "Where Am I Today?" family
planning calendar. Along with the calendar I introduce to you the new "Kid Kritters"
These fun, adventurous animal friends will become a part of your kids lives. You'll
find each monthly adventure fun, original and exciting. The Kid Kritters will always
keep your children anticipating their next month's escapades.
I hope you find the calendar bright, fun and a help in planning your families
monthly activities. The great thing about my calendar is the "Kid Kritters" are so
wonderful, the calendar will want to be used by everyone, not just families that are
divorced or separated.
