The flight from Beijing to Xi’an was very smooth and the plane was nicer and bigger than any of the US domestic flights I’ve been on lately. And we even got a hot meal for our less than 2 hour flight. However, when we landed, we had to go on a bus ride to the nearest terminal. We will see the main terra-cotta soldiers tomorrow, but saw smaller pits under glass today. We are staying at the Hyatt, which is one of the most beautiful hotels I’ve ever seen and it’s on a smallish man made lake that I walked around before dinner (almost 3 miles) And Annie, the tour director, arranged for me to get a small suite with a balcony, as a free upgrade For My Birthday!!
