Beginning of Odyssey in China

Beijing is fascinating in so many ways, the people seem engaged with life, prosperous, and really happy, particularly in loving and interacting with their kids.  While the air may not be the bluest of blues, the streets are spotless with nary a poor person (much less any homeless) to be seen.   I walked to a very upscale restaurant yesterday evening so I could have Peking Duck, and felt very safe albeit out of place  no blonds to be seen
