We stayed one night at the Alhambra Palace hotel. The rooms were elegantly old, but the service was as grand as in the glory days. After a private dinner and a spectacular sunset, we went the next morning to the Alhambra itself.
Long a Moorish palace, it was the last of the major Spanish cities that was “re-conquested” (the word the guides used) in 1492 (yes, the same year that Chris C. Got Isabel to finance him).
